The Domus Ramp Wood is a 2-in-1 pet ramp and stair that adapts to your dog's or cat's needs, letting you switch between a stair and a ramp configuration. Built for stability and everyday use, it helps pets safely reach beds, sofas, and cars.
Materials and Structural Design
The frame is constructed from solid fir wood and plywood, offering a durable, moisture-resistant build that resists warping over time. The surface is covered in an anti-slip polyester fabric, giving pets secure footing whether the unit is set up as a stair or a ramp. At full height, the gentle slope reaches up to 64 cm (25.2 in), reducing strain on muscles and joints caused by jumping, and easing pressure on paws.
Use and Safety
Suitable for small to large-sized dogs, cats, and other pets, this 2-in-1 design can be configured as a stair for indoor furniture or as a ramp for car access. It supports a maximum load weight of 25 kg (55 lbs). When not in use, it folds flat for easy, compact storage.

Dog Steps
Help Your Dog Reach Every Favourite Spot, Safely & Comfortably
Whether it’s the sofa, bed, or car, our dog ramps and steps make everyday life easier for both you and your pet.
Designed to reduce pressure on joints and prevent injuries, they’re ideal for small breeds, senior dogs, and pets recovering from surgery.

Domus Canis
Built by dog owners, for dog owners
We got tired of watching good dogs sleep on bad beds.
Every bed we tried, for our own dogs, went flat, smelled, or got ignored entirely.
Domus Canis is made by a small team in the UK, by people who own dogs and care where they sleep.
Every sofa is built the way we'd build furniture for ourselves, with a proper frame, materials chosen to last, and a cover you can actually wash.
No shortcuts. No flat-pack foam. Just a sofa your dog will use for years.

Questions About Our Dog Steps, Answered
Find answers to the most common questions about our dog sofas, steps and delivery services.
1. Are dog steps safe for my dog?
1. Are dog steps safe for my dog?
Yes. Dog steps provide a safer, more controlled way for your dog to reach sofas, beds and other higher surfaces, helping reduce the need for repeated jumping. They can be particularly useful for small, older or less mobile dogs. For dogs with specific health conditions, we recommend following your vet’s advice.
2. Will my dog actually use the steps?
2. Will my dog actually use the steps?
Most dogs simply need a little time to get used to them. Start by placing the steps next to their favourite spot and encourage them with treats or praise. Once they realise how easy it is to climb up and down, they usually become part of their everyday routine.
3. Are the steps stable enough?
3. Are the steps stable enough?
Our dog steps are designed with stability and everyday use in mind, so your dog can climb up and down with confidence. Always place them on a flat, stable surface and check that they are positioned securely before use.
4. Will my dog slip on the steps?
4. Will my dog slip on the steps?
Our dog steps and ramps feature a non-slip surface designed to provide secure footing as your dog climbs up or down. This helps give your dog greater confidence and stability, especially when getting onto sofas, beds or into the car. For the safest experience, always place the steps or ramp on a stable, level surface.
5. What if my dog is nervous about using them?
5. What if my dog is nervous about using them?
That’s completely normal. Don’t force your dog onto the steps. Let them explore at their own pace, reward them for approaching or taking the first step, and gradually build their confidence. A few short, positive sessions are usually all it takes.
6. Will the steps be too steep or difficult for my dog?
6. Will the steps be too steep or difficult for my dog?
Dog steps provide a gradual alternative to jumping, making it easier for your dog to reach higher surfaces. When choosing a model, make sure the height and dimensions are suitable for your dog and the furniture you intend to use it with.
7. Are dog steps only suitable for older or small dogs?
7. Are dog steps only suitable for older or small dogs?
Not at all. While they’re especially helpful for puppies, smaller breeds and older dogs, steps can be useful for any dog that struggles with jumping or simply needs an easier way to get on and off furniture.
8. Will they take up a lot of space in my home?

Our dog steps are designed to provide practical everyday access without being unnecessarily bulky. They can be positioned beside your sofa, bed or other favourite spot, giving your dog easy access while fitting naturally into your living space.
9. Can I use the steps every day?
9. Can I use the steps every day?
Absolutely. They’re designed for everyday use, making it easier for your dog to get up and down from their favourite places without having to rely on repeated jumping. For safety, always use the steps on a suitable, stable surface and supervise your dog when introducing them for the first time.
